Auguste François-Marie de Colbert-Chabanais
He was killed in Spain, by an Irish private from the 95th Rifles, Thomas Plunkett !
Two of his brothers were also General of the Empire.
The most famous being Pierre David de Colbert-Chabanais, known as Édouard de Colbert-Chabanais, Colonel of the Red Lancers!
His other brother Louis-Pierre-Alphonse, Count of Colbert-Chabanais did not obtain his General stars until 1814

Thomas Plunkett of the 95 Th Rifles killing General Auguste de Colbert-Chabanais

Tom was a real sniper, the crack of the 95 Th Rifles cracks. It would seem that like many Riflemen in the event of success ... Plunkett received Shillings for the death of the flamboyant General de Colbert-Chabannais!
