This 1/9th scale resin bust was converted for me by Jimbo some time ago from an original Carl Reid sculpt.

Sculpted in 75mm scale by Carl Reid is this 3 x piece resin diorama which depicts two Irish guardmen fending off a trooper of the 3rd Guards Uhlan regiment during the Battle of the Marne September 1914.

'The Return'
for the 165th anniversary of the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean war. To mark this Carl Reid has sculpted a 75mm diorama inspired by the painting of Lady Butler.
Part 1 - Private Pennington - a trooper of the 11th Hussars ( sculpted earlier by Maurice Corry)
Part 2 -17th Lancer James Nunnery carrying the wounded bugler Billy Britain
Part 3 - Trooper 8th Hussars holding the bridle of a 4th Light Dragoon.

Carl est vraiment un grand sculpteur, quel dynamisme dans ses pièces.....

Le drapeau du 105ème de ligne a été capturé (apparemment) par le capitaine Alexander Kennedy Clarck du Royal Dragoons qui le donna au caporal Stiles pour le ramener à l'arrière...

Euh.... le fessier droit du cheval (partie droite de la photo ) est bien sculpté ? Ça me paraît étrange la pose des muscles et le creux très prononcé.....

Oui, effectivement, on dirait qu'il y a un problème à ce niveau là...
La musculature est un peu "bizarre" j'ai bien l'impression...

La dynamique des chevaux de Carl Reid est toujours très réussie, par contre ils ont parfois tendance à paraitre "bodybuildés".
Cavaliers à vos claviers ...

5 x figure set of riflemen can be utilised within the existing 21 x figure set of the 52nd Regiment, as a stand alone set or in parts and as individuals.
For anyone thinking of converting these figures please be aware that I intend to have the 52nd set converted to represent the following regiments;
71st Highland Light Infantry ( Almost complete)
27th Inniskillings
1st Foot Guards
And possibly additional 95th Rifles figures.

21 figurines !! Sans doute un magnifique diorama une fois l'ensemble peint, mais il faudra beaucoup de persévérance et de temps au peintre qui s'attellera à un tel ensemble pour réaliser 21 uniformes "identiques" !!
